3 Baby Eczema Home Remedies
When your baby suffers from eczema, you can really understand how uneasy he feels with the itch and the dry skin. The skin of your baby is sensitive and when eczema flares up on a sensitive skin, it can be a real challenge to deal with it. Fortunately however, there are certain baby eczema home remedies you can use.
Moisturizers: One of the best home remedies available is moisturizer. The main cause behind the outbreak of eczema is dry skin. If you can keep the baby's skin from drying out, he will have less frequent eczema outbreaks. To do this, buy a natural moisturizer such as aloe vera lotion and apply it on your baby's skin immediately after bath. In fact there is no restriction on how many times you can apply the moisturizer on your baby's skin; you should apply it as often as possible to make sure your baby's skin doesn't dry out. At the same time, make sure your baby gets plenty of water to drink so that he is moisturized from inside as well.
Natural Face wash: Face wash can be very harmful for eczema patients. However, exceptions to this rule are natural face washes. And it is very easy to make a natural face wash. Take 1 tsp of white oak bark, 1 tsp of slippery elm bark, 1 tsp of comfrey root and two cups of water. Mix and put them in a bowl. Heat the mixture. After the mixture becomes hot, shimmer it with a long handled spoon for about half an hour. When it cools down a little, just apply it on your baby's skin like you would with any other face wash. Natural face washes are not fool proof and may not be able to cure eczema completely, but nonetheless they soothe your baby's skin during the flare ups and thus minimize the eczema outbreaks.
Healing Lotions: Another home remedy you can use to get rid of eczema is a natural healing lotion. You can make healing lotions with blueberry leaves. Apply this lotion only during the eczema flare ups. This lotion helps to make the flare ups "settle down" as well as minimizes the frequency of the flare ups to a great extent. It also soothes your baby's skin.
